TOTTENHAM reached the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Lucas Moura scored the only goal of what was a tight affair in Lancashire.

Lucas Moura was the matchwinner, coming off the bench for the injured Bryan Gil to head the Londoners into the quarter-finals.
It wasn't pretty, but it may just prove to be the moment that kickstarts Tottenham's season - and Nuno Espirito Santo's time in charge.
For Sean Dyche and co, it's time to concentrate on the Premier League. Burnley are currently winless, in the bottom three and have a huge game at home to Brentford on Saturday.

NUNO DELIGHT
Nuno Espirito Santo was as pleased as he was relieved to see his side win through an ugly cup tie at Turf Moor. The Spurs coach felt his side were worthy victors despite their issues continuing in the final third.
It was a good performance, we were in control of the game - more so in the second half. Not the finishing, but we were better in mobility and sticking together at the end of the game.

No wins in the Premier League this season and now out of the League Cup, it's fair to say Burnley fans are feeling hurt and frustrated right now.
Despite some decent cameos from the likes of McNeil, Gudmundsson and Cornet, the Clarets offered very little as a creative, attacking force.
Speaking afterwards, manager Sean Dyche shared the fans' disappointment but maintained that he feels his players are on the right track.
The attitude and belief were right, but we need to find those moments going forward. There's a group in there giving everything and that has to continue.

The Beautiful Game? Not always. The record books will show a Tottenham win that takes them into the Carabao Cup quarter-final but it was a contest unlikely to live long in the memory. The tie was settled by substitute Lucas Moura's second half header, and the best Burnley could muster was a weak Ashley Barnes' effort; their only shot on target.

All alone apart from Pope that is. The goalkeeper rushes 30 yards out his goal to beat the Tottenham striker to the ball and clear.

The Burnley forward is furious, but you feel it's as much frustration with himself because it may have killed his side's momentum.
The home side have four minutes of added on time to find the goal that would take this tie to penalties.

They win a corner on the right that Cornet sends into a packed penalty box. Somehow it travels through everyone to end up at the feet of Pieters 20 yards out. The left-back goes for glory and sends a shot soaring into space.

Both events looked unlikely early on, but the introduction of Lucas Moura has certainly injected some impetus into the visitors' play, and it's no surprise that he's the man to break the deadlock.
A slick break forward finds Emerson on the right, and the full-back delivers a delicious cross for the Brazilian head down and past Nick Pope.
